On May 16, 2025, Thanksgiving Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, devotion and a strong display of national unity in all units and headquarters of ASF, as it was all over the country. This day was a day to express gratitude to Allah for Pakistan’s glorious military achievements, to pay tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs, and to renew the pledge to protect national dignity and integrity. The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and collective prayers in mosques located in all ASF units, in which gratitude was expressed for the security, stability of the beloved homeland, and successes against the enemy. In this regard, the main ceremony was held at ASF Headquarters Karachi. The ceremony began with saluting the national flag and a well-dressed contingent of ASF saluted the flag. Later, the Director General ASF laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs. Director General ASF Major General Adnan Asif Jah Shad Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) expressed solidarity with the Pakistani forces and paid tribute to their sacrifices on this occasion and said that in the fight for justice, the Pakistani forces stood like a vest (lead wall) against the enemy and the world recognized the operational expertise of the Pakistani forces. The great sacrifices of the brave sons who laid down their lives for the motherland can never be forgotten. He said that today is the day to express gratitude to Allah Almighty for Pakistan’s brilliant success and victory against India’s open aggression and provocation. The brave and professional armed forces of Pakistan have written a golden chapter in military history by giving an effective and comprehensive response to the enemy in its own language and have thwarted the enemy’s intentions. He reiterated that whenever it comes to the defense and survival of the country, the entire brave nation will stand by the armed forces of Pakistan. The Director General ASF also appreciated the ASF youth and officers for performing their duties diligently at the airports during the battle for truth and said that ASF salutes the greatness of the martyrs of all the forces of Pakistan, especially the martyrs of the Pakistan Army.
