ASF Martyrs’ Day was observed with great reverence and solemnity at the ASF Headquarters and all units of the force across the country. To highlight the importance of this day, dignified ceremonies were held at all airports nationwide.   The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayers in all ASF garrisons for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks. At all units, special contingents presented a formal guard of honor at the graves of the martyrs, followed by Fatiha and prayers for their forgiveness and high ranks in the hereafter. Later, the families of the martyrs were visited, and heartfelt tributes were paid to their loved ones' eternal sacrifices.   Chief Security Officers and Officers Commanding at all garrisons read out a special message from the Director General ASF, paying homage to the martyrs.   The central ceremony was held at the ASF Headquarters in Karachi. The Director General ASF laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and offered collective prayers for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks. While paying tribute to the everlasting sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs, Director General ASF, Major General Adnan Asif Jah Shad, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), stated in his message:   > “June 8, 2014, marks a golden chapter in the history of ASF martyrs when brave personnel of ASF embraced martyrdom and stood as warriors in defense of Karachi Airport. The supreme sacrifices of those valiant sons of the soil, who laid down their lives for the motherland, can never be forgotten. We remain ever-ready to make any sacrifice necessary for the homeland.”       The Director General further stated that the recent success of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the “Battle of Truth” (Ma’raka-e-Haq) is living proof that whenever the enemy casts an evil eye on our land, the entire nation and the armed forces stand united like a solid wall and respond with full strength. The Pakistan Army, ASF, and other security institutions together form an impregnable defense shield, founded upon the sacred blood of our martyrs. ASF officers and personnel are always prepared with the highest level of professionalism and faith-driven spirit to thwart any act of sabotage and protect the airports of our beloved country.
